I wanted to write...
I wanted to keep my commitment to write/send out an essay each Wednesday. However, I got terrible sleep and then went back to sleep for 5 hours, waking up at 3pm.
I attempted to cobble together something that I thought could make sense, but I decided against that. I also looked at the drafts I have that could be ready, but those are not calling to me in this moment to communicate what matters to me right now.
I could wait until tomorrow and still give myself credit for this week, but I’m going to see how it goes today/tonight/tomorrow before I make a firm decision.
That said, here’s what I wanted to write about:
How I realized being a writer is something I’ve always been doing and honing, but it has been in the background. I want to bring it to the foreground of my purpose with more intention in the next phase of my being
How I’ve been feeling like Aang from Avatar The Last Airbender. A character who lost all of his family and is now bearing a lot of responsibility and feels obligated to others.
How some of my friendships seem to have asymmetrically shifted. We were once growing together and now one of us is choosing a path and it’s like: wait, we aren’t doing this together?
The values I’m now realizing I need in this phase and how that’s different from the last values exercise I did.
Why I majored in psychology and how that choice is indicative of so many of my actions that are rooted in poverty avoidance, awareness of others, and wanting financial independence
I write here as a promise to myself. I don’t have notifications on for new subscribers or look at the per essay analytics. I measure my happiness in telling a story that I feel good about. It is always a bonus when people like, comment, share, or tell me what they liked or were surprised by in my writings.
I will throw in a few YouTube videos that I really enjoyed lately. I love learning about random things over on that app.
Props for the commitment to self and for cultivating a meaningful practice.
Side Note: Uncle Iroh is one of my cartoon role models.
